Vancouver Vitiligo Week 2026

A celebration of community and empowerment for the Vitiligo community. After the event Omar ( organiser / founder / incredible human) spoke about how taking part in these experiences in such a visible, united way was something some never thought they’d do in their lifetime. So what an absolute privilege to be given the space on the opening night to create this collection of stills and video for them. It wasn’t about us as creatives with a shot list or about pulling together a curated project, it was about showing up in a treasured space that Omar has fought so hard to create and working with each person in a way that was gentle and celebrated them for who they are. In my mind these images are like a gift to the Vitiligo Community. My hope is that others within the community will see these images, see the joy, see the diversity, see us championing each of these individuals for who they are and maybe it will empower them to be proud of who they are and push for a greater understanding from others of Vitiligo.

Always a joy to collaboratively shoot and direct alongside @michalurbanekphoto jumping between stills, video and printing images as take aways. Thank you also to @michaellipsett for being the sounding board early on in the project to help with Art Direction and voice for this. @itsomarsharife is was a pleasure to come together to create this for The Vitiligo Group and we cannot wait to see what we create next year.
